How To Write with Sparklers
Incorporating sparklers into wedding receptions has become the new trend. Pick up any bridal magazine and I guarantee you will see sparklers all over it. If you visit social media sites such as Pinterest.com, you have seen tons of images of words like ‘Love’ spelled out with sparklers. These sparkler writing pictures are absolutely beautiful! The burning question is…how do you do this? Well, the good news is you can easily do this with the proper equipment! Follow these four steps and you can create beautiful photos that you will have forever.
Supplies. You will need a camera with a long exposure mode, one with an exposure option that goes to 30 seconds. You will also need a tripod or have a surface to rest the camera on. This will help you to avoid any shaky or blurry effects that can easily occur when holding the camera in your hand.
Fireworks. Purchase sparklers that are 20 to 36 inches long because they burn for several minutes and will give you plenty of time to set up the shot and to write with sparklers before they burn out. You will need to know what word you are going to spell out so that you can have a sparkler per letter.
Set up. You will need to write with sparklers backwards in order for it to read correctly on camera. However, if you forget to do this, you can correct it in Photoshop by flipping the image. Also, make sure to set the camera far enough back, as to fit the entire word in the picture.
Action. Place the camera on long exposure or night mode and begin taking your sparkler photos! The possibilities are endless; you are only limited by the amount of sparklers you get and your own imagination!
