Confetti Cannon Safety: Tips and Precautions for Using Them
Handheld confetti and streamer cannons add excitement and joy as they shoot colorful paper into the air during celebrations and special events. While fun and safe for all ages, you'll want to remember a few important safety guidelines to ensure everyone has maximum fun with minimum risk.
- Read the Instructions: Before using a handheld confetti cannon, carefully read the manufacturer's instructions. Familiarize yourself with the device, its parts, and how it functions before use. Our handheld confetti cannons use compressed air that is released when you twist the bottom of the canister.
- Use Recommended Confetti: Purchasing the right confetti cannon helps ensure the planet's safety. Our biodegradable and water-soluble confetti cannons are made from non-toxic dyes and designed to disappear within two to seven days, depending on the weather.
- Release the Confetti Outside: Concert venues with high-vaulted ceilings may accommodate handheld confetti and streamer cannons, but use in an outdoor area with sufficient space is ideal. If using indoors, be sure the area is clear of any obstructions—such as overhead light fixtures.
- Aim Away from People and Faces: When operating a handheld confetti cannon, always point it upward and away from people--as the compressed air can shoot confetti up to 20 feet into the air. Make sure to create a safe distance between yourself and others before releasing the confetti.
- Check for Wind Conditions: Before using the handheld confetti cannon, assess wind conditions. If the wind is too strong, it is advisable to postpone using it for another celebration.
- Hand Position and Twist: Place left hand on upper portion of the cannon above the arrows. Place your right hand on the lower portion of the cannon below the arrows. Rotate the upper portion of the cannon clockwise and the rotate the lower portion of the cannon counterclockwise.
- Avoid Obstructing the Barrel: Keep the barrel clear at all times. Do not place your hand or any other objects in the way of the confetti's release.
- Dispose of Used Cannons Safely: After using a handheld confetti cannon, dispose of it used cannon in a trash can or dumpster.
- Use Under Adult Supervision: Our confetti cannons are safe and easy enough for children to use—under adult supervision, who should ensure the children aim up and away from other people.
